Characteristics: This
resort, which was named by "GOLF Magazine" to its 1998 list of
"Silver Medal Resorts," has three nine hole courses that are played in
three eighteen hole combinations. The Canyon Course is considered the most
difficult. The Ridge Course is the next hardest and then the Hill Course. These
are typical desert-target courses, featuring many changes in elevation, plus
elevated tee boxes and greens. "Golf Digest" rated the Ridge/Canyon
course as the 8th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and the
13th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. The resort was also listed
among "Silver Medal Resorts" by "GOLF Magazine" in 1996.

A 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course is the
centerpiece of the 800 acre property of La Paloma.
To play a round of golf at La Paloma is to experience the
desert in its finest form. There is not one water hazard. The
natural desert, which lies just beyond the green, is all the
hazard needed. Great care has been taken to preserve the
indigenous vegetation and natural wildlife habitats. Coyotes,
bobcats, rabbits and quail are among the many natives which
call La Paloma home.

The
three 9-hole courses known as Canyon, Hill and Ridge are named
for their diverse landscapes. Each offers an innovative design
with thrilling play for all range of handicaps. There are four
to five tees per hole varying as much as 80 to 120 yards.
Multiple pin placements on the green continually change the
character and difficulty of each hole. |

La Paloma Country Club
Canyon Course
Canyon Course Hole # 1
| |

Plays from an elevated tee across native terrain
to a large landing area. The tri-level green is
heavily guarded by sand bunkers and is
incorporated into the exiting landscape to create
a natural amphitheatre. |
Canyon Course Hole # 2

Very
intriguing hole, strategically and aesthetically. The
green is 40 feet lower than the tee with a deep canyon
guarding the entire right side of the hole |
Canyon Course Hole #3
| |

Tee
shot is played over a large canyon to a two-level
hillside green guarded by sand bunkers. |
Canyon Course Hole #4

Hole begins
with a high hillside tee shot onto a fairway that lies in
a deep valley. Play second shot to a green protected by
sand, grass hollows and a major wash. |
Canyon Course Hole #5
| |

Landing
area for this tee shot surrounded by huge grassy
mounds. Approach shot is to a small green heavily
protected by sand traps and bordered by a large
natural wash. |
Canyon Course Hole #6

Drive over
a gently dropping natural area to a wide fairway. Then go
for the terraced green cut into a large hillside. |
Canyon Course Hole #7

Enjoy the
view, but be sure your tee shot is long and to the right
on this slight dogleg. The fairway is guarded by a major
wash to the left and a sloping hill to the right. The
contoured green is cut sharply into the natural hillside. |
Canyon Course Hole #8
| |

The
longest par 3 on the course. Requires a tee shot over
natural vegetation to a green protected by a large
bunker on the left. |
Canyon Course Hole #9

Landing
area protected by sand bunkers on the left and a long
grass bunker on the right. Misplace your tee shot and you
must cross an 8-foot deep grass bunker to reach the green. |
La Paloma Country Club
Hill Course
| |
Hill Course Hole #1

An
uphill hole with the Santa Catalina Mountains in the
background. A well-placed tee shot leaves a short
pitch over a low natural bunker into a softly
contoured green. |
Hill
Course Hole #2

A good tee
shot leaves a short approach over a gentle valley. The
elevated green is nestled among grass mounds and heavily
guarded by bunkers. |
Hill
Course Hole #3

A big tee
shot will reach a high plateau. Then it's two good shots
(or one great one) to a well protected green. |
Hill Course Hole #4

Tee off
over a natural wash to a tri-level green, protected by
sand bunkers, a grassy swale and small mounds. |
Hill Course Hole #5

From the
back tee it takes two long shots to "get home". The green
is guarded on the left by a grassy swale and on the right
by a sand bunker and grassy hollows. |
| |
Hill
Course Hole #6

Sweeps
downhill into an open landing area. A well placed tee
shot leaves a scenic second shot across a native swale. |
Hill Course Hole #7
| |

Players
must cross a deep overgrown wash twice on this par 5.
An accurate second shot leaves only a wedge across the
wash to a small green. |
Hill Course Hole #8
| |

Plays
across a low overgrown valley to a hillside green.
Contoured green is guarded on three sides by grassy
mounds or sand traps. |
Hill Course Hole #9

Aim your
tee shot to the right side of the fairway and make this
very testing hole shorter. Second shot is hit over a deep
valley to a small green guarded by deep grassy hollows. |
La Paloma Country Club
Ridge Course
Ridge Course Hole #1

With the
Santa Catalina Mountains as a backdrop, an elevated tee
plays across the desert to the fairway which is guarded on
the right side by bunkers, grassy hollows and mounds. |
| |
Ridge Course Hole #2

Elevated tee shot over native
vegetation to the lading area. Demands a relatively
long second shot to a contoured hillside green guarded
by a sand bunker and grassy hollows. |
Ridge Course Hole #3

Play the
drive long and right and go for the green in two, or reach
it in three with a third shot over deep grassy mounds and
hollows. |
Ridge Course Hole #4

The most
picturesque Par 3 at La Paloma. Play across the edge of a
canyon floor 30 to 40 feet below the green. Rolls and
depressions divide the green into three challenging pin
placement areas. |
Ridge Course Hole #5

The more
the dog-leg is cut off, the shorter the second shot.
Scenic green runs parallel to a canyon that drops 50 to 60
feet. |
Ridge Course Hole #6

Players
must place the tee shot in a "guarded" landing area to get
an open shot over low-lying bunkers and hollows to the
green. |
Ridge Course Hole #7

Relatively
short shot across a valley and sand trap to a small,
hillside green. |
Ridge Course Hole #8

A sharp
dog-leg guarded on the left by a bunker and native desert
mounds. The green is guarded left, front and back, and is
divided into four distinct areas. |
Ridge Course Hole #9

Tee off
over a beautiful natural valley to a generous fairway.
The green is surrounded by deep grassy mounds and hollows
and guarded in front by a sand bunker. |
