Starr Pass Golf
Club
This is a typical desert course
where shot accuracy is needed if you wish to score low. There are several
required shots over desert landscaping. Some of the greens and tees are
elevated, providing a wide variety of differences in elevation throughout the
course. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public
Course" in the state for 1996, and the 18th "Best in State"
course for 1995-96. This club previously hosted the PGA Northern Telecom Open.

Starr
Pass Country Club & Spa features 27 holes of Arnold Palmer Signature Golf.
What's best about the golf at Starr Pass is that it's a true Sonoran desert golf
experience. The course winds its way through the mountains and arroyos with the
opportunity to experience the best of golf and desert wildlife.
We know you'll thoroughly enjoy our 27 holes as they were designed to challenge
players of all abilities. What's more, the names of our three nines are
indicative of the wildlife you may experience here at Starr Pass ... The
Roadrunner, The Coyote and The Rattler.
The
Rattler The longest of the three nines at Starr Pass Country Club & Spa
begins with a stunning view of the city and surrounding mountain ranges. You
will play over natural arroyos while enjoying the scenic beauty of true desert
golf. Hole #5 is one to remember. This demanding Par 5 with a split fairway will
leave you very pleased if you are lucky enough to earn your par here.
The Roadrunner These nine holes begin
just steps outside of the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa and offer
unsurpassed views of the entire facility. With dramatic elevation changes and
the swirling winds created by the Tucson Mountains, these nine holes will truly
test players of all levels. Hole #3 offers an amazing view of the resort, city
and surrounding mountains; however, be alert, this Par 3 plays severely
downhill. You would be well advised to select your club very carefully.
The Coyote These nine holes will take
you through a very serene and quiet area of the golf course. You will quite
likely see more wildlife on this stretch of holes including jackrabbits, quails
or possibly even a local family of deer. Hole #6 is the Signature hole in the
Coyote Nine. This Par 4 offers a risk/reward option from the tee. With a large
outcropping of natural rock in the landing area, a decision must be made whether
to lay up from in front of the outcropping or drive past it, which will leave a
much shorter approach shot to the green.
Practice Facility
Sharpen your skills on our 33,000 square foot driving range and 10,000 square
foot practice green, featuring a complete short-game complex with bunker and
pitching areas.
